Proceq has announced five new strategic appointments within its global business which, since January 1, 2018, incorporates the team and portfolio of Zehntner. These appointments further strengthen Proceq’s position as the company moves ahead with an exciting program of 2018 launches in the non-destructive testing (NDT) and retro-reflectometry space, as well as expansion into new facilities.

The Proceq senior management team has recently been reinforced by the appointments of Hélder Varandas as Chief Financial Officer (CFO) and Patrick Waller as Chief Operating Officer (COO). During almost 10 years with the Tectus Group, Hélder – who holds a degree as a chartered accountant – worked as a Senior Accountant covering the full spectrum of finance and accounting, along with several mergers, acquisitions, capital market transactions and international restructuring projects. Although engaged on Proceq financial matters for some years earlier, he became responsible for the Proceq finance function as of April 2016. Patrick – who holds a Dipl. Mechanical Engineering – began his career with Uster Technologies AG as a designer and later held the position of Mechanical Engineer. He joined Proceq in 2006 as a Mechanical Engineer before becoming Head of Supply Chain in 2012. Since 2016, he has also led the Proceq mechanical engineering group.

Elsewhere in the Proceq organization, business development for Zehntner GmbH Testing Instruments is now driven by Mads Genefke who combines more than 10 years’ international commercial experience of managing corporate, operational and strategic issues. Most recently, he has been responsible for global business development at ARRB Group Ltd and a member of the management team in Australia. One of his achievements was the creation of the ‘Pavement Alliance’ – a strategic partnership between companies offering complimentary technologies, to collaborate, share distributor networks and joint product and business development programs. Mads holds an Executive MBA and a Master’s Degree in Information Management. Meanwhile, Proceq has also retained the services of Peter Zehntner who continues to contribute his decades-long experience as the Proceq and Zehntner businesses grow together.

Mads’ recruitment coincides with the strengthening of Proceq USA through Tim Brown, an experienced Technical Sales Manager with almost four decades of NDT experience in GE Oil & Gas, TMK IPSCO, Zetec / Uson LP, Foerster Instruments Inc., Allegheny Ludlum Steel Corp. and the US Air Force. He will focus on sales development especially in the USA.

In addition, Yan Yan has joined the Proceq headquarter team as a Product Manager. She graduated with an M.Sc. in Energy Science and Technology from ETH Zürich, worked as a Development Engineer with Alstom Power AG and has most recently been working as a Mechanical Component Engineer at GE.

Proceq CFO Hélder Varandas said: “This is a particularly exciting and fast-moving time for Proceq and I look forward to working with the management team and staff. It’s a great opportunity to apply my global experience to drive success in every aspect of the company’s financial affairs and future development.”

Proceq COO Patrick Waller commented: “Having some 12 years of experience with Proceq and its customers, now as the COO, I am delighted to be able to broaden my focus across the whole, recently expanded, organization. We have an excellent team across the globe and with more new products coming up, we’re ready to deliver even smarter technologies with which our customers can enhance their own businesses.”

Proceq CEO, Dr. Ralph Mennicke stated: “The many developments over the last few months have placed Proceq in a strong position to expand both our global reach and product range still further. This year will certainly see more innovative, market leading, best-in-class portable NDT technologies rolled out to the market. Many congratulations to Hélder and Patrick and a warm welcome to Mads, Tim, Peter and Yan – we continue extending our best-in-class team.”
